Nominated Scholarships

Some scholarships require a school nomination in ordered to be considered. In this case, Counseling Services sends out an email to all NCSSM seniors and families with information regarding the scholarship requirements and deadline date. The application is then read and discussed by the NCSSM Scholarship Nominating Committee (consists of faculty and staff). The committee decides who will receive the school's nominations.

Examples of scholarships that require nomination:

Morehead-Cain Foundation at UNC-Chapel Hill (allows 10 nominations from NCSSM and self-endorsement)
Park Scholarship at North Carolina State University (allows 10 nominations from NCSSM and  self-endorsement)
Robertson Scholars Leadership Foundation at Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill (allows 5 nominations from NCSSM and allows students to apply directly to the program)
John Montgomery Belk Scholarship at Davidson College (allows 2 nominations from NCSSM)

Some scholarships require nomination but allow for an unlimited number of student nominations. In this case, students may request their counselor to nominate them.
